Idea Guy Assembly & Installation was first opened in May of 2015 as Ikea Guy Denver by Scott Blasczyk in response to a continued demand for service that was observed in his position as a contractor providing assembly for Ikea. While Ikea provided assembly through the efforts of contractors such as Scott, service and integrity was often lacking in many of the other contractors due to Ikea's red tape, and a lack of concern for the service, quality and integrity aspects of assembly and installation that many customers appreciated. Scott was affectionately known by many customers as "the ikeaguy" due to his expertise, professionalism, integrity, service and ability to creatively troubleshoot many of Ikea's quirks for an exceptional level of customer satisfaction. Scott started his private service and ran with that nickname as a business name, but Ikea was unhappy with someone in private business having more expertise with their products than most employed or contracted by them. The name was changed at their insistence. Ikea later continued their focus on profit over service quality with their acquisition of Taskrabbit who often provides even less experienced individuals (many who just do this as side cash) in many cases than their previous full time contractors. Scott has assembled and installed well over a million pieces of Ikea and other scandinavian flat pack furniture as well as the many other brands of flat pack in his 20 plus years of experience. He often is called in to personally handle large scope projects that 2 to 3 taskrs could not handle as well as to fix installations that local handymen or remodeling companies have botched or walked out on.
